Each time they met to discuss where in the world he needed to go next, Brother Kennedy would place his hand over the African continent on the large globe in the office and say, “However, you know we can’t open up Africa, because of the priesthood.” As President Kimball and Brother Kennedy passed by the office a few days following the revelation on the priesthood given in 1978, the prophet said, “You can take your hand off Africa now.”
