John Wheelock Smith, A. M. the son of the Rev. Prof. Dr John, D. C. 1773, and Susan (Mason) Smith, was born at Hanover Apr. 25, 1786, and died at London, England, Feb. 19, 1814, Æ. 27. He read law; began practice in Boston, Ms, in 1808; ill health however drove him abroad about 1810; after travelling in various parts of Europe, took up his abode in London, where consumption brought him to the grave. He did not marry. Samuel Mason Smith, D. C. 1813, was his brother.
