In reference to the ancestors of many of the Indian tribes, Josiah Priest makes the following statements:
"This view by no means invalidates the opinion, that many tribes of the Indians of North America, are descended of the Israelites. * * Their Jewish customs are too many to be enumerated in this work; for a particular account of these customs, see Smith's View of the Hebrews." Page 56.
