the BOOK OF MORMON instruments are mentioned in the Bible, in the same words: " . . . the harp and the viol, the tabret and pipe . . ." occurs in Isaiah 5:2; ". . . the noise of thy viols in Isaiah 14:11 (cf. also Mos 5:23, 6;5). The tabret was a sort of drum or tambourine; "viol" is the Hebrew 'nebel', a type of lyre. True viols were unknown until the 15th century. Cf.
