The book itself, as the reader can see, is sufficient proof of its fictitious nature. It is full of grammatical, chronological, and philosophical errors. It says, for example, that Nephi was guided across the ocean by a compass nearly two thousand years before that useful tool was invented, namely the mariner’s compass.
