We find now the person who should be the one to be the Son of God. Remember at that time there were no people in the earth, so the word God must have had reference to the father of him that was to come down here on this earth from the planet form which we all came; that is, it must have been him under whom Michael, the great general, must have gained his experience and from whom he got his High and Holy calling whereunto he was called.

Michael was the one who had fought so valiantly in the overcoming of Lucifer who was at the head of the one-third of the hosts of Heaven, who fought against God, that followed him who was the Father of Lies. In fact, we find, according to the sayings of Joseph Smith, Michael was the man who was called Adam, because he was the first man, who was the direct son of his God. Eloehim, and his wife, came down to the plant where they dwelt, and begot Michael (Adam) and Eve, his wife, in the Garden of Eden, raised them on the fruits of the earth, form the germ they were nurtured, on the fruits of the earth, through their mother, they grew until they were born, then they were reared on the fruits, and in the elements pertaining to this earth, thus became mortal; and at the proper time, their father and mother gave them commandments, and left them, and went back to Heaven; Adam and Eve, being filled with the earth were chained to it, and cold not leave it; as there was a command to multiply and replenish the earth, Adam sinned that man might be, the object of men coming here was that they might have joy and gain an experience whereby they would get knowledge.

Now it is thus—that “in Adam all die” by nature, being his children, we must die, as Adam was to die for his transgression, he having disobeyed the command of his God. “By sin cometh death,” and all being subject to death must always remain dead and in captivity of the devil, if there were not some way devised in the councils of the Gods, whereby we might be redeemed, as justice would claim her own, unless Adam should repent, and in mercy to his children become the Mediator and Redeemer, and in due time pay with his blood for the sin committed in the garden, also by becoming immortal be able to lead his children back through the resurrection to him as their God, as an atonement must be made even as one man’s blood could not atone for another man’s sin on the principle of justice, so the children were forever lost without the interposition of a God, our father Adam stepped forward and was willing to do that which he had seen his Father do before this; that is, come down in the meridian of time to his own children and be born of woman, and thus became the son, which would make him the father and son, as he says he is, being Adam the father of the human race, and being born through his own posterity became a son of Adam, and because of the body obtained through his mother, the Virgin Mary, he could be crucified, and pay the penalty of his own sin, thus answering the requirement of a just law, being raised again in three days an immortal being.
