Paul said that “in heaven there are lords many, and Gods many but to us there is but one God;” and our late revered President Brigham Young says, that Adam is our God and the only God with which we will have to do. “This is my beloved Son, hear ye him,” says the Father to Joseph Smith, continuing to him the authority He gave him when He said, “Multiply and replenish the earth, and subdue it and have dominion over it.”

We are forced to understand that Adam, being the son, resembled his father socially and religiously; other things being equal, would cherish the same propensities with his father, having a similar sense of justice and truth, according to the measure of knowledge belonging to each, the after having passed through the things that his son was commanded to pass through, the father having the full knowledge, the son getting the full knowledge and experience of his father, or a similar experience, if we wish to become Gods we are to go the same things he has done. And again, “The Son doeth what he that seen the father do; and being a Son, he thinks it no robbery to become like him.

Now, kind readers, may a consideration of these truths lead you to choose the good and refuse the evil, and stand on the immutable basis of every one who obeys the eternal, unchangeable laws of God, is the increasing desire of your humble servant,

SOLOMON C. STEPHENS.
