As we follow the sacred narrative down from the fall to the Noachian age, it is only too clear how much Lucifer, by his crafty deceptions, increased his power over mankind. In little more than one thousand five hundred years, the inhabitants of the world had reached such a state of sinfulness, that it became necessary by the mighty deluge to destroy them, with the exception of eight souls. Still though by one stroke the subjects of sin were swept away, death's wily advocate immediately re-entered the field with confidence. His efforts were not in vain. Soon multitudes were rallying around his standard and worshiping at his shrine, and with few checks he has been victorious in the world ever since.
