Robert F. Smith addresses the use of "Lord" (YHWH) in the Book of Ether.

Lord
As pointed out by Grant Hardy, “Lord” as deity “more than a hundred times” in the Jaredite record, and is identified with Jesus Christ in Ether 3:14, 20. Yet, Hardy observes, since Yahweh (KJV “LORD”) is not attested before the 14th century B.C., “it is not clear what original divine title might have been behind Moron’s use of Lord” in Ether. However, given the context, Sumerian En, en, in4 = Akkadian bēlu “Lord,” or En-Ia “My-Lord,” would be just fine, or perhaps seen DIMER, DINIR, DINGIR = ilu (“God” (as applied above in the etymology of Coriantumr). As rendered in Egyptian on the Book of Mormon plates, this would likely have been Nb “Lord” (ne, né-eb, nib, ni-ib, ni-im).
