Friday, April 8, A.L. 5842, A.D. 1842.
Special meeting. Lodge met pursuant to adjournment. Present—H. Smith, W. M. p.t.; Noah Rogers, S. W. p.t.; L. N. Scowl, J.W.; J. C. Bennett, S.; N. K. Whitney, T.; C. Allen, S. D.; H. C. Kimball, J. D.; Samuel Rolfe, T.; W. Felshaw, & H. Clark, S.; Asahel Perry, Joshua Smith, L. Leonard, D. Pettegrew, S. Chase, George Montague, & H. G. Sherwood, members. An E. A. Lodge was then opened, the minutes of the preceding meeting read, and F. H. Moeser, A. Lyman, and T. Turley, were then initiated into the first degree of masonry. No further business appearing in this degree, a F. C. Lodge was opened in due form and Willard Richards, Brigham Young, & D. S. Hollister were admitted Fellow Craft Masons. Ordered that the lodge meet from day to day until the press of business is disposed of, & that the officers be entitled to a reasonable compensation for their services. No further business appearing in this degree the lodge closed down to stand closed until tomorrow evening at 6 o'clock, P.M.
