Transcription

The gospel is spreading rapidly in almost all parts of the United States, large acquisitions are being made to this Church constantly: Judge Adams of Springfiled, Ill. has been baptized; as also the Quarter Master General of the State, John C. Bennett. Our places improve quite fast, it contains about 3000 inhabitants, it is just incorporated into a city. We have also obtained a charter for a University, etc. here, which will add to our influence, if we make a proper use of these things. Four or five new stakes have been appointed this fall, principally in the State; one I think is at Pleasant Grove, Des Moines Co., Iowa.
