A new paper.—We have been favored with the 2d number of a new paper established in Poultney, in this county, entitled the "Poultney Gazette" by Messrs. Smith and Shute, and edited by the Rev. Ethan Smith, (as is understood,) an ecclesiastic of the congregational order, and pastor of a church of a similar denomination, in that town. The paper is very well executed, and we are far from envying the publishers all that success in their undertaking they may have anticipated, although it will probably withdraw from our establishment some of its patronage. And it is hoped that, the editor, in his new and laborious professional task will not have to encounter any difficulties which will operate to diminish his parochial influence.
