Heber J. Grant records speaking in Berlin to nearly 1000 people.

With Brother Welker and Brother Anderson I visited three Sunday schools and spoke briefly at each.
I had a nap at the mission home after lunch, and in the evening we attended a public meeting at which Brothers Anderson, Brown and Welker and I were the speakers. The count showed 1094 people in, attendance. Brother Brown, however, felt sure that quite a party that came in and could not find seats and sat at the back of the hall had not been counted. It was the largest audience I have ever had the privilege of addressing in any foreign country. There were not half this many in Berlin when I attended meeting there thirty odd years ago. I was very well pleased with the singing of the choir. Certainly the German people have learned to sing some of Evan Stevens’ anthems as beautifully as any people I have ever met.
