7. God has revealed that blacks cannot yet receive the priesthood.

For this reason, the gospel is not actively preached to the lineage of Cain. The prophet has told us to preach the gospel to those who are entitled to the priesthood. But let's read what God said about the negros in the future.

Read the following paragraph from a letter from the first presidency: "President McKay also said that ‘Someday in God's eternal plan, the Negro will be given the right to hold the Priesthood.’"

What does the prophet say about blacks and the priesthood?

--They will receive the priesthood in the future.I know this is the truth.

And when that time comes, how will we know?

--God will reveal this to his prophet.

8. In the future when it is revealed by God, black people will receive the priesthood.

Do you accept the teaching that God reveals his will concerning his priesthood to the prophets, Brother Nunes?

--Yes, I accept it.

Well, I know this is the truth and that God does guide and direct the Church through modern revelation. Now, Brother Nunes, do you know if any of your ancestors were black or black descendants?

--No, none.

If in the future you discover that one of your ancestors was black, would you notify the Branch President?

--Yes.

Do you think that in this case you would remain firm and faithful to the Church and to its agreements with God?

--Yes.
