I left at 6:45 and got to President Tanner's office by 7:30, where I had a talk with him with respect to the Negro problem. Since we couldn't have a meeting of the Board of Trustees I wanted a meeting of the First Presidency but he said that President McKay's health did not permit such. I then sought out another person who is very close to President McKay and got a little different story of the condition of President McKay's health--in fact, this other person is meeting with President McKay tomorrow and he agreed to take up for me the Negro problem. Time only will tell me whether he does.
