Wednesday June 12— 1844 this morning was arrestd by David Bettisworth. Constable of Carthage on Complit [complaint]. Francis M. Higbee befor. [blank] Thomas Morrison J. P. justice of the peace——
I offered to go before— any Jusstice in Nauvoo but he swore he would carry me to cathge [Carthage]. took a writ of Habus habeas corpus—— was terid [tried] befor Municipal cut court.— & discharged—
