Holding to long tradition, Gordon B. Hinckley - longtime member of the First Presidency and the church's senior apostle - was ordained and set apart Sunday as 15th president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Approximately 9 million members worldwide accept the president as prophet, seer and revelator and as spiritual guide. Also announced during a news conference Monday in the Joseph Smith Building were Thomas S. Monson as first counselor and James E. Faust as second counselor.
