OUR MISSION

Deseret Management Corporation (DMC) is a global operating company, managing for-profit entities affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. All DMC companies operate under a unified mission, “to be trusted voices of light and truth influencing hundreds of millions of people worldwide.”

DMC companies provide content, services, and information through a diverse portfolio of companies, with the majority being media and communications brands. These include award-winning news, broadcasting, publishing, digital, financial, marketing strategy, and hospitality organizations, dedicated to providing best-in-class service with dignity, respect, humility and integrity for all.

DMC’s news, broadcast (radio and television), publishing companies, marketing strategy, and digital brands seek to illuminate values and institutions that build strong societies—such as the importance of faith, family, and fundamental human virtues.

OUR COMPANIES

Local Media That Matters

Founded in 1964, Bonneville International’s heritage traces its early roots to KSL Radio, which first went on the air in May of 1922 (originally as KZN) in Salt Lake City, and to KSL-TV, which had its on-air debut in 1949. Based in Salt Lake City, Bonneville International owns and operates 21 radio stations in Denver, Phoenix, Seattle, Sacramento, San Francisco and Salt Lake City as well as Salt Lake City’s Premier television station, KSL-TV.

Thought Leader Of The New West

For more than 170 years, the Deseret News has served as a trusted news source contributing to national conversations by celebrating the perspectives of the New West—from its values and communities to its entrepreneurial spirit and more. Offering a pragmatic view for those feeling disconnected and under-represented in the polarized media scene, the Deseret News is dedicated to filling a void in quality journalism by being a convener of center-right ideas to help develop solutions for issues facing society. The Deseret News portfolio consists of a website, app, newspapers and a magazine.

Good Work For Good Causes

Bonneville Communications operates businesses designed to create good in the world. Boncom, our advertising agency is an award-winning communications consultancy full of experts at experience design, branding, media buying, marketing, analytics, research, and strategy. Radiant Digital owns content platforms that inspire 100 of millions of people through family and faith based content.

Supporting A Faith-Filled Lifestyle

Since 1866, Deseret Book Company has been the market leader in providing content and lifestyle products to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through its retail chains and publishing imprints. Using books, music, film, fine art, home décor and other lifestyle products, Deseret Book is committed to creating and offering resources that build faith, strengthen families and promote personal virtues. Their national publishing imprint, Shadow Mountain, has enlarged the company’s reach in promoting family values to a broader non-religious customer base.

Connecting Communities

Deseret Digital Media (DDM) connects communities through content and commerce using an array of online brands and software technologies. The mildly addictive KSL.com brings locals together with KSL News and KSL Marketplace, which includes Classifieds, Cars, Jobs, Homes and Services. Utah.com goes beyond borders connecting travelers near and far with carefully curated itineraries and firsthand travel advice. DDM is expanding its reach both regionally and globally, allowing more people to make informed and trusted decisions with real benefits.

Financial Stability

Founded in 1905 to help protect widows and orphans, Beneficial Life is the oldest life insurance company based in the Intermountain West. Beneficial honors its commitments. During the stock market crash of 1929 and the resulting economic depression of the 1930s Beneficial honored policy owner requests for policy loans and surrender payments, although deferring such cash payments was allowed by law. Through both World Wars, Beneficial paid death claims for insureds who died while serving their country, without invoking policy clauses that allowed denial of such claims.

A Tradition of Excellence

In 1988, Temple Square Hospitality Corporation (TSHC) was organized to service the dining and hospitality needs of those visiting Temple Square – the largest tourist attraction in Utah. Today, TSHC continues to be known as the Hospitality Host of Temple Square and has grown into two catering facilities, four restaurants, a bakery, a full-service floral department and a contact center for all of Temple Square. Each year TSHC serves over 600,000 Temple Square guests.
