[Abstract]

The Order Proboscidea in Mexico is composed of the families Elephantidae, Mammutidae, and Gomphotheriidae. The last one includes the genus Cuvieronius. In this paper, we present a skull identified as the first record of Cuvieronius hyodon in Valparaíso, southwestern Zacatecas.
