One thing I must congratulate the Mormons for: they are just as willing for their daughters to marry colored men as to marry white men who are not of their faith. As there are no colored young ladies here all the colored young men marry white Mormon girls, nor are they driven from white society for it. In short, Salt Lake City is the freest place I ever saw.
